DAY 3
The beach was a lot cooler than Fort Worth, but still very hot and sticky. We figured out very quickly that the best time of day to go to the beach was late afternoon into the evening hours. We went into town for a late lunch at Johnny Carino’s and then came back and enjoyed the rest of the day on the beach.
DAY 4
Ray got up very early and took the car into the dealer by 7:00 am. He hung out there while they fixed the air conditioner and we hung out relaxing at the trailer. Grandma and the girls had some great card games and I had a great nap! Ray was able to get the car fixed by around noon and come back to get us. We decided it would be fun to go for a drive. We started off on our drive and immediately realized that Ray and I had great air in the front, but the back air was still not working!!! So, instead we ended up back at the dealership and renting a van. They gave us a great rate for the day. We headed back to camp and loaded up the rental van with some food to cook down at the beach with our friends. Ray had a great set up. He basically buried his round charcoal cooker in the sand and used the lid to block the wind. Two problems…the fire was VERY hot because the wind and the seagulls hung out trying to get our food. Not an enjoyable experience, so that was the only time we cooked down at the beach. Ha!
